For me, christmas
is not over yet. I wanted a really gorgeous christmas tree for my
Lundby house, and tried to make tiny ornaments to fit this scale.
Here are a few tips on how to make them
Make a dollhouse scene out
of the small plastic parts left over from the time you built a closet...

About colours
Once every half year I check my
colours and if they are dry, I pour a little liquid into the cans;
water in the water based; thinner (white spirit) in the enamel paints
(or acetone). You get so disappointed if the colours all dry out.
Some of my colours are more than 20 years old

New safety belt in the Lundby car
Garage sale find - a Lundby car
One of the safetybelts was missing
A medicine jar had a plastic strip,
perfect for a new belt
I cut the strip, filed the end, cut
a small notch for the lock and painted the strip. Finally, I collected
some dust on top of a painting on the wall with my finger and rubbed
the strip to take away some of the shine...
The notch on the strip fastens the new
seat belt in the car. Like new again =)
Dry paper clay
Put the concrete hard lump in
a couple of small zip lock bags with water. Be patient and wait for
it to become soft again (could take up to a month). Work it a bit
and it will be like new

Cloth without fringes
Use ordinary wood glue, dilute
it and apply carefully on the edge. You can also use it to strengthen
tiny crochet cloth for small tables

Soften your
plastic clay (e.g. cernit)
Use your food processor
for this. Put a hard clump of clay and work it in the processor until
it crumbles into very small pieces. A few drops of baby oil (pure
paraffine) on the crumbs and run the processer for quite a long time
- eventually the clay becomes soft and pliant. It will harden in the
oven as usual.

Spackling paste
When you have used paste, always
drip some water on the paste before you screw the top on. No more
dry paste! I prefer the acrylic paste the carpenters use, because
it never becomes gritty and it is possible to make corners with it
