Decorations for a christmas tree 1:16 - 1:18

A really gorgeous Fanny and Alexander christmas tree needs lots of decorations.

So far I have no garlands and no lights in this tree but I have to save something for next christmas!

A tiny Swarowski-crystal is glittering in the tree. Use a double gold thread and pull it through the crystal into a loop. Lock the loop with a dot of glue on the last piece of thread before you pull it all through the crystal

The tiny bow is made with a dollhouse size fork with four prongs. Wind thin yarn around the fork four or five times; prod another piece of yarn between the middle prongs and make a hard double knot. Make a loop for hanging. It is easy to tie if you put something with the right size between the knots. In this case I used a thin brush

In order to make the glass baubles I had to locate extremely small plastic pearls and glued gold wire into the pearl. I then dipped them into varnish and sprinkled them generously with glitter - red, gold and white snow.

Finally I bent the wire into a small hook and hooked the pearl on a branch with a tiny dot of glue on the hook. I simply had to use glue - the baubles fell off whenever the tree moved

I also made tiny hearts with Fimo "icing" but they were too big for this tree.

By heating a piece of iron wire and shoving it into the plastic double silver pearls, I melted the plastic and was able to fasten the wire. Then it was easily bent into a small hook. They made nice ornaments in the tree because they hang like glitter

My niece made the extremely small gold star on the picture, she makes them prettier than me. We learned how to make it by a relative from Poland a long time ago. I put a gold wire straight through the star and made a small hook.

You'll find a tutorial on how to make the stars on this page:
